What is happening?

Oxfordshire County Council have threatened to close Summertown Library. Further details below...

  • Details of County Council proposals

  • The County Council replies...

Turrill Sculpture Garden

The Turrill Sculpture Garden is behind Summertown Library, which provides the only public entrance to the garden. It is not clear what would happen to the garden if the library was closed. See The Friends of Turrill Sculpture Garden website.

Libraries across Oxfordshire

Summertown is just one of 20 libraries in Oxfordshire under threat (including the libraries in Oxford's other districts).
A petition protesting against library closures across Oxfordshire is here. There are also campaigns for Headington and Kennington libraries.

The Library

This website is not run by library staff. We can't help you with any enquiries about borrowing etc. from Summertown Library. The place to go for that is here.
